Around The World In 80 Minutes- how to eat your way around the globe at Wheelock Place

Wheelock Place has some excellent options for food, and best of all, you can try something from every corner of the globe. Here are our picks of the best.

Bangkok Jam

If you want something spicy or sweet, head over to Bangkok Jam for some Thai classics. Their green curry is spectacular, as well as their tom yum soup, and is served with delicious jasmine rice. The Thai fish cake also comes highly recommended, so order double!

Uya

If you prefer the clean tastes of Japanese food, then head over to Uya where you can try unagi don. Eel served on top of rice, you can actually see the whole process from preparation to cooking. Uya also serves a variety of donburi bowls, including tendon and wagyu. [caption id="attachment_22925" align="alignnone" width="300"] Food

Privé

If you prefer to sit back with a drink in hand, then Privé is the place to be. They have happy hour from 5-8pm, with promotions on house alcohol as well as a great menu of bar snacks. The sangria is excellent and goes especially well with the crab cakes. [caption id="attachment_22924" align="alignnone" width="300"]Food Food

House of Robert Timms

All day breakfast is on the menu here, so you can choose from pancakes, a fried chicken waffle burger or meatballs with unicorn cheese. Full of calories but also with plenty of taste, Robert Timms is one of the more famous Australian cafes in the city. [caption id="attachment_22923" align="alignnone" width="300"]Food Food

Style Vibes

If you prefer something a little more local, this cafe has laksa by the bucketload, as well as some Western favorites. Their desserts are also to die for, so if you want a touch of Singapore, then this place is right where you need to be. [caption id="attachment_22922" align="alignnone" width="300"]Food Food

NYDC

This American style restaurant is famous for its mudpies, baked prawns and cajun chicken alfredo. If you have a really big appetite, try the meatball pasta where the meatballs are as big as your fist. Whilst having plenty of options for main courses, it is the desserts that really take the biscuit (pun not intended). [caption id="attachment_22921" align="alignnone" width="300"]Food Food

Nam Nam Noodle Bar

If you want some classic Vietnamese food, then head to Nam Nam. They specialise in noodles, pho and banh mi. Try the Hanoi Pho, spicy mince meat pork ball noodles and soy braised chicken noodles. Cheap as well as tasty, Nam Nam is extremely popular with savvy food hunters and will often be packed.
