THE NEW WORLD COLLECTION        $287.50/case

Pikes White Mullet
No, this isn’t Michael Bolton in 10 years time, it’s a blend of riesling, viognier, chenin blanc and sauvignon blanc. It’s a mouthful (as the myriad drape would suggest) of tropical fruit and citrus, with a touch of mineral, making for an intriguing amalgam of aromas. Crisp, fresh and dry, with a hint of stonefruit and pineapple, this easy drinking wine pairs well with Asian style pork belly.

Pyren Vineyard Broken Quartz Shiraz
This 2005 vintage is successor to the awardwinning 2004 and was noted by James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion 2008 as a wine of special interest, earning 91 points. It also won bronze at the Cowra Wine Show 2007 and Ballarat Wine show 2006. Picked towards the end of 2005, this shiraz is an excellent balance of acid and ripe fruit, deep purple in colour, with spice, eucalyptus and concentrated sweet berries on the nose. The palate is balanced and has great length and definition, showing sweet fruit, dusty oak and dry tannins. Cellar until 2016.

Jade River Cabernet Merlot
Made from Margaret River fruit, this wine displays a complex and exciting range of aromas. Juniper berry, bay leaf and blackberries are all evident. Medium bodied, with fine tannins and a lively raspberry and rhubarb flavour.

Trentham Estate La Famiglia Pinot Grigio
Pinot grigio is a mutation of the pinot noir grape, but it yields a light, aromatic white wine with perfumed fruits and talc overtones. The taste is fine but rounded with pear and mineral acidity. Goes well with antipasto, seafood or light chicken dishes.

Chain of Ponds Novello Bianco
With the warmer conditions came more tropical fruit characters in the grape and less cut grass. Harvested in the coolest part of the morning by the gentlest of picking machines, the resulting grapes were fresh and crisp on delivery to the winery.

Te Hira Sauvignon Blanc
This wine is produced from grapes grown in the heart of Marlborough. The fruit was harvested in the cool of the night and transported to the winery for immediate processing. After a gentle pressing the juice was settled before being racked to fermentation. The juice was inoculated with yeast and cool fermented for an average of 17 days. Following two months of lees contact the wine was blended, lightly fined and filtered prior to bottling. The wine displays ripe, tropical fruit aromas with hints of bell pepper. The palate is round and full with a persistent finish. A wine to be enjoyed over the next two to three years.

Enzo Mecella Bianco Vino Vero di Matelica

The verdicchio is a well structured, straw coloured wine, offering many different aromas, with a bitter almond after taste. Ideal with seafood, pasta, or as an aperitif.

Pierre Henri Cabernet Sauvignon VDP d’OC
A robust wine, full and long in the mouth, wine finely balanced tannins.

Camillo Montori Montepulciano d’Abbruzo DOC Montori
